THERE was plenty at steak on Sunday as Forsyth Butcher's carved up the Builders to win the annual Peebles Bowling Club Traders Trophy.

Rescheduled from May due to bad weather the popular play-offs attracted 20 teams from across Peeblesshire.

Yet again the green witnessed a competitive day's play with plenty of fun.

And, apart from a brief downpour, the weather was glorious, as was the play and the crowd, with everyone enjoying a thoroughly good day.

The Forsyth's team of Dot Lavin, Eric Geddes, Blair Ritchie and skip Euan Lumsden faced a strong Builders team of Malcolm Dodds, Billy Bertram, Robert Wood and skip Steven Ferguson in the final.

In a thrilling final it was the Butchers who earned the victory.
