LOCAL athletics club Moorfoot Runners claimed first and second on Saturday at the mighty Devil's Beeftub Hill Race.
The two miles race includes around 1,000 feet of climbing with a total of 49 runners lining up at the start.
It was Andrew Cox from Innerleithen along with team-mate Lucas Cheskin from Cardrona who set the early pace.
The Moorfoot duo were neck and neck going towards the top.
But it was Cox who managed to pull away going along the ridge.
And they both held their positions coming down the treacherous slopes.
At the finishing line Andrew told us: "The last descent was a nightmare as it was hellish wet.
"Looking at past results I'm pretty pleased with the time on a wet slippery day."
The race was the penultimate round in the Scottish Borders Hill Race Series and attracted almost double the entrants from last year.
