PEEBLES showjumper Scott Brash put the disappointment of Rio behind him to become only the second rider to achieve back to back Grand Prix victories at the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’.
Riding Ursula XII, Brash won the richest Grand Prix on the equestrian circuit following a two way jump off against McLain Ward of the USA.
Scott takes home a winners’ cheque of $1,000,000 CAN.
Speaking after his win Scott said: “Ursula was the number one horse in the world, but never actually won a Grand Prix.
"She was second so many times in so many big Grand Prix, but never actually won one, so to go through two years of injury and finally get back to the top end of this sport and to win the biggest Grand Prix in the world, here, I'm absolutely over the moon for the horse.”
Scott now plans for Ursula to travel to Geneva in December to compete in the Rolex Grand Prix, the final Major of the year.
