OAPees 53

Biggar Over 35s 5

IT has become one of the highlights of the local rugby season.

Many of the region's stars from yesterday rolled up their sleeves and rolled back the years to yet again do battle with their neighbours.

The derby clash between the OAPees and Biggar 35s was sponsored by ARMAC Veterinary Group.

And a large crowd turned up at the Gytes to witness some lung-bursting runs and bone-crunching tackles.

In the end the OAPees showed their superiority with a 53-5 victory.

Despite Jim Currie switching sides midway through the derby, Biggar couldn't quite match the Peebles veterans.

A fine time was had by all in the Eastgate Clubrooms after the match when stories were swapped and bruises compared over a beer or two.
