Kinross Seconds 2

Peebles 1

THE last match of 2016 saw the Peebles men travel over to Fife to take on Kinross Seconds.

The home side were vastly experienced and this was always going to be a stern test for the Pees.

The match was pretty even for the first 20 or so minutes with both teams having a few decent chances, and Kalman making a couple of saves to keep the score goalless.

It was the Pees who took the lead with a long ball from Brown at the back played through to the younger Murdoch brother, playing into Barrett who shot and beat the keeper.

This provoked the Kinross side, equalizing only a few minutes later when their captain rifled a shot towards the goal which couldn’t be stopped.

The Pees defence managed to hold on until half time with some great tackles and interceptions from Thom and Cameron at the back.

The second half didn’t start well for the Pees who conceded another goal.

The Kinross side overloaded the away team's D and on the third attempt they eventually got the ball in the net.

Peebles were unable to break out and several of their chances from both the wingers and forwards were thwarted by the Kinross defence.

Things got worse for the Pees when defender Thom had go off for a short period after the ball struck him on the knee.

Barrett came back to partner Cameron in defence. With the injured Thom able to continue Barrett moved back up to the front and helped the Pees create a few more chances before the end of the match, with Wilson and young Anderson having a couple of chances flash wide.

The match finished 2-1 to Kinross.

Big thanks to Justin for umpiring.
