Boroughmuir Ladies 1

Peebles Ladies 0

PEEBLES ladies played their first match of 2017 on Saturday as the second half of the season resumed in very cold conditions with an away fixture against Boroughmuir at Meggatland.

After a very lengthy break the ladies were determined to get off to a winning start.

The Pees started confidently moving the ball about well and were definitely on top of the game possession wise but sadly could not find the back of the goal.

The long winter break took its toll in front of goal as numerous penalty corners were awarded to the travelling side but chances were not taken.

A very frustrating afternoon was on the cards with Peebles having the majority of play with attack after attack.

The home side were awarded a penalty corner late on in the game which was successfully converted leaving the Peebles side very disappointed and deflated with the final score 1-0 to the home side.

Thanks to Sandy Barrett for umpiring and coach Stuart Lobb for his continuous work with the team.

Tomorrow the ladies are at home against league leaders Linlithgow where they look to redeem themselves from a very disappointing and poor display against them the first time round where the ladies suffered a 3-1 loss. Pass back is at 3.15 at Peebles High School.
