NO fewer than five Under 15s players at Peebles Netball have been called up the national squad.

For the first time, Scotland has been invited to field an Under 15 national squad to play in the UK School Games at Loughborough at the end of the summer.

Under the tuition of national coach Gail Parata, a long squad of the 26 most talented Under 15 players in Scotland has been selected - with an astonishing five from the local Peebles club.

And its double-success for Cardrona’s Finn family, with sisters Ruby and Cerys, both named in the squad.

The other Peebles Netball players selected are Emma Latto, who received her international cap at Under 17 level a month ago, and East of Scotland squad members Abbie Sorrell and Hannah Little.

Peebles Netball Coach Linda Nicholson told us: “We are delighted and very excited to have so many of our younger players now on the national radar.

"There is a lot of hard work ahead as our players aim to survive the cut to the final squad of 12, but to get this far already is a huge achievement.”
