KELSO climbed up to third in the East of Scotland Championship following a 95-run win over Carlton Seconds at Grange Loan.

And they can thank their lower order batsmen for the points as Timothy Mitchell reached 44 and Dougie Wilson made 42 for an innings total of 177.

Mitchell was also in inspired form with the ball, taking four wickets for the loss of only 19 runs as the home side were held to just 82 all out.

Gala remain rooted to the foot of the table after suffering a six wickets defeat at fellow strugglers Freuchie.

Ian Stonebridge's 83 not out did the damage as the home side eased past Gala's total of 171. Braw Lads opener Josh Halls was the visitors' top scorer with 47.

It's a similar story for St Boswells, as they now sit bottom of Division Two following a seven wicket demolition at East Drive by Largo. The Bossie could only manage 110 all out, with Craig Paterson topping the order with 22.

Selkirk remain top of Division Three despite suffering their first defeat of the season.

It all appeared to be going well enough at Newfield as they held Edinburgh Accies Seconds to 130 all out on the artificial wicket - Jordan Reid and Greg Fenton both taking three wickets.

But a batting collapse, which saw Fenton with 53 being the only player to make double figures, left Selkirk with just 90 runs.

Hawick and Wilton did return to winning ways to move up the table. The convincing seven wickets victory over Murrrayfield DAFS at Buccleuch Park moves the Teries into seventh.

Ryan Johnston took five wickets for the loss of only 22 runs as the visitors were all out for 97. Phil McTaggart was top home batsman with 50 as Hawick eased to victory.

Melrose managed to dismiss Peebles County for just 37 runs within 17 overs at Huntlyburn to get their season back on track.

The seven wickets victory moves Melrose up to sixth in Division Four - just one place behind County.

The Gala-Hawick Development team moved into the top half of Division Seven following their 76 runs victory at Marchmont Thirds.

Scott Paterson scored his first ever century during the victory.
