Tweeddale Rovers 2

Gordon 4

SPONSORS Day at Kerfield didn't end with the desired result.

Gritty Gordon managed to out-muscle their Tweeddale hosts in this Division A clash.

The game started as a midfield arm-wrestle - and that's how it continued for most of the 90 minutes.

A well worked free kick saw Gordon take the lead midway through the half.

Although the majority of the first half chances fell to the home team nobody could beat the goalkeeper with their efforts.

Just after half time the visitors went two up after a deflected cross was tapped in at the back post by Craig Livingstone.

The same player netted his second after chipping Bertram when being threaded through.

A free kick won and scored by McDonald gave Tweeddale a new lease of life as they looked to get back into the game.

But more missed chances were to prove costly.

And the final nail in the coffin for Tweeddale came towards the 80th minute with a solo run from a Gordon midfielder who was offered too much time and space and finished neatly.

A consolation goal came in stoppage time as Johnson prodded home a Colin cross, but it was too little, too late.
