OVER 100 energetic hill runners completed this year's epic Two Breweries Race.
The 18-mile hike over some of the region's highest hills, between Traquair and Broughton, has gained a reputation as one of the toughest races on the calendar.
But despite more than 5,000 feet of climbing through knee-high heather only four starters failed to reach the finish.
And it was Lothian AC's Scott Fraser who proved to be the fastest, reaching Broughton Brewery in 2.47.30 - only 30 seconds ahead of Carnegie's Andrew Symonds.
Last year's winner, Alisdair Anthony from Ochill finished in fourth.
Stewart Whittle was the first Over 40 home in 2.54.11 hours with Colin Donnelly of Lochaber first over 50 home.
Megan Mowbry from the Hunters Bog Trotters was first woman to complete the course, clocking an impressive 3.37.39.
Athletes from all over Scotland and the north of England took part in the 26th running of the race.
All 106 finishers were rewarded with a bottle of award-winning Broughton Ale as well as other refreshments at the village hall.
