WEST LINTON athlete Chris O'Hare is dreaming of a Moscow mile this summer.

The 22-year-old will line up in Birmingham later today at the British Championships.

And he knows that a win in the 1500 metres will almost certainly guarantee him a place in the GB team for next month's World Championships in Russia.

Chris has already beaten the majority of his main rivals on the same track earlier this month.

And last weekend's new personal best of 3.35.37, at an international race in Belguim, takes him well within the World Championship B standard of 3.37.00.

Chris told the Peeblesshire News: "I am definitely excited for this weekend.

"My 3.35 last week puts me top of the UK this year but I know that I have to win to give myself a chance of making the World Championship team." O'Hare's time at Oordegem last weekend takes him to third in the Scotland all-time list for the distance - behind Kelso's John Robson and Graham Williamson.

Chris will line up tonight (Friday) for the his heat before, hopefully, going for gold tomorrow in the final just before 3pm.

He added: "It will be a tough two races this weekend but hopefully I can do enough to win and show the selectors I am worth taking to the Worlds."
