The 16-year-old Peebles High pupil was part of Edinburgh AC’s winning team in the Under 17s three-miles race at Heriot-Watt University.

O’Hare’s ninth place was enough to claim first with Josh Kerr crossing the line in third and Robert Bough claiming sixth.

Edinburgh beat Kilbarchan by just eight points for the title.

Moorfoot athletes Kobe Stevens and Sam MacNeil finished 22nd and 25th, respectively, in the Under 17s race.

In the girls race over the same distance Niamh Shaw from Peebles finished 17th.

Fellow Moorfoot runner Beth Hobbs did well to finish 13th in the Under 13s race with training partner Mairi Wallace in 35th.

Jamie Logan from the Gala Harriers club was the highest placed local in the Boys Under 13s, crossing the line in 17th. Joey Brown of Chirnside Chasers was 32nd with Euan Hood of the Moorfoot Runners three places further back in 35th.

Chirnside’s Jamie Kinghorn, 39th, Josh Abbot (42nd) and Ben Reynolds (43rd) helped the Chasers to an eighth place in the team race.
