As part of the Glasgow 2014 celebrations an athletics meeting was held at Pitreavie Stadium over the weekend.

Eight different clubs from the east of Scotland competed at the meeting.

And each club pulled on the colours of one of the Commonwealth countries competing at this year’s Games.

Eve, in the black and white of New Zealand, won the Under 15s 100 metres and 200 metres.

Coach Charlie Russell was full of praise for the talented 13-year-old. He said: “There was strong competition in both races.

“Eve was amongst the youngest and did really well to win.

“It was terribly windy for both finals but she was strong enough to still win.”
