Naylor won in a tremendous time of 32 minutes 21 seconds - over a minute ahead of runner-up Darrell Hastie.
First home from the organising Moorfoots club was Andrew Cox in fifth.
Naylor only arrived five minutes before the race.
Mike Pearson from the Moorfoots club told us: “Two slightly dishevelled looking bearded men turned up at the Gytes less than five minutes before the start in Victoria Park, and were almost refused registration. “However appearances were deceptive and closer examination revealed a Team GB label on track suit bottoms.” The ladies race was more predictable with Susan Ridley winning yet again.
The veteran from Peebles broke the tape ahead of Carol Moss in the field of 22 ladies.
Local athlete Scout Adkin presented the prizes.
Mike added: “Many thanks to our sponsor, the recently established Freewheelin’ Brewery Co. The race couldn’t have been run without lots of help from the Community Council.”
