TWEEDDALE Rovers are doubling up for the forthcoming season.

The Kerfield club have entered two teams in the the 2017/18 Borders Amateur FA leagues.

While Tweeddale Rovers will be battling for honours in the A Division a new Tweeddale Rovers Colts team will play in the C League.

And they are appealing for any potential players to join in the training sessions every Tuesday and Thursday in the build up to the season kicking off.

A spokesman for Tweeddale Rovers told us: "For the 2017/18 season the club are running two teams, with a second team playing in the C Division. "Several players from last seasons Under 17s team have made the move but there is still space in both squads for new players.

"Anyone interested is encouraged to come along to Kerfield on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm."

Recently the club held its presentation evening to mark the exploits of last season.

An enjoyable event at Peebles Golf Club saw Finlay Moffat pick up the Committee's Player of the Year trophy, Grant Wilson walk away with the Players' Player of the Year, and Wilson also collect the Top Goalscorer's award.

The Endeavour award went to committee member Iain Mitchell for his devoted help with the Tweeddale Trumps each week.
