THERE will be a local derby in the Sanderson Cup final as Gala Fairydean Rovers and Langlee Amateurs made it through Saturday's semis.

Lewis Swaney scored two and Jason McIntosh added a third as Fairydean Rovers beat Berwick-Upon-Tweed team Highfields United 3-0 to make their second final of the season.

Langlee secured a tight 2-1 win over Selkirk Victoria with Danny Bolton and Gary Cleghorn on target, while Blain Gillie scored for the Vics.

The Walls Cup final will be between Langholm Legion and Tweedmouth Amateurs as both teams came through close semi finals.

Legion beat Duns Amateurs 4-2 with Barry Rayson scoring two and Brian Mattinson and Andrew Paisley also on target.

It was even tighter for Tweedmouth Amateurs who defeated Lauder 4-3.

Chirnside United suffered a potentially decisive blow in the Division A title race as they lost at Hawick United.

Ross Scott and Liam Lavery gave Hawick a 2-1 win, with Adam Turner netting for Chirnside. It leaves Division A leaders Hawick Waverley with a game in hand and two points ahead of Chirnside.

At the other end of the table, Coldstream Amateurs won the relegation battle with Newtown 2-0.

The result means Newtown are four points adrift of safety while Coldstream are two behind Stow in eighth place, but have played two games more.

In Division B, Leithen Rovers beat Linton Hotspur in the Tweeddale derby while history was made in Earlston Rhymers’ 8-1 loss to Biggar United as Rhymers goalkeeper Lee Manderson played outfield and scored his first ever goal for the club.
