PEEBLES favourite Rab Linton has been unveiled as the new manager at Whitestone Park.
The former player and coach will return to the club where he was a mainstay for over a decade.
And it is hoped he will reverse the fortunes of the struggling club who were whipped 12-0 on Saturday by Leith Athletic.
The defeat was the last straw for Ray McInnes, who resigned after the final whistle.
McInnes, who replaced Gary French in September, won only one of his six games in charge - conceding 53 goals along the way.
Whitestone Park chairman Colin McDonald accepted McInnes' resignation on Saturday evening - and three days later announced Linton, along with new assistant Derek Learmond, as the team to take Peebles forward.
McDonald told the Peeblesshire News: "I think Rab and Derek will bring some much-needed stability to the club. Under the circumstances Rab coming in is the best thing that could have happened and he will have an experienced group of coaches around him."
Linton took his first training session last Thursday night but team selection for the upcoming match at Eyemouth United will fall on the shoulders of coaches Craig Dilworth and Lawrence Forrest.
