The fraud investigator has spent a successful six seasons at the Border Amateur side winning countless trophies.

But, despite still being in the running for a treble this season, he’s decided to go public with his desire to leave the dugout.

Paul told the Peeblesshire News: “My decision to step down was not an easy one to make, having mulled it over for quite a while now, but I feel its time for me to step down as circumstances have changed in my personal life and I want to dedicate more time to this.

“I have been in charge of the club for six years now and along with the players I have managed, we have brought continued success to Leithen Rovers.

“But I believe that with the group of youngsters we have had training at the club for the past six months, now is a time for transition for the club which will hopefully secure the long term future.” Graham dropped the bombshell to the club’s committee and players on Tuesday evening.

But he has agreed to stay on as part of the club’s committee in future seasons.

He added: “I will still remain involved on the committee side of things to ensure the club survives.

“We need a strong committee and manager as well as a new conveyor belt of talent which I believe is almost in place.

“I would like to thank the club and players for their continued support during my reign and would hope they would repeat this support for the new gaffer, whoever it may be.” Leithen Rovers are currently chasing Chirnside in the race for the Border Amateur A Division.

And they are only match away from a South Cup final.

Over the past six seasons Graham has guided the amateurs to the Division A title, won two South Cups and brought the Waddell, Beveridge and Border cups back to Innerleithen.

Leithen Rovers will advertise for a replacement in the coming weeks as well as make a fresh appeal for new committee members.
