Kelso 10 v 19 Peebles
Peebles have emerged victorious from yet another fierce Borders derby.
And they very much keep their promotion hopes alive.
Kelso's initial attacks proved fruitless against a resolute Peebles defence.
And all the hard work by the visitors soon paid off as Adam Moffat, back in first team action, made a clever chip and a blistering dash through the Kelso defence to score.
Donald Anderson kicked this conversion.
This didn't satisfy Peebles' taste for points though, as they kept up the attack, and had a few good chances, which finally paid off when Neil Hogarth broke through the Kelso line and dived over to score.
Donald Anderson's conversion gave the Gytes men a handsome 14 point lead.
Kelso had to settle for three points before half time from a penalty after all their drives and breaks for the try line had come to nothing.
After a scuffle in which Alan Smellie appeared to be head butted early on in the second half, a penalty was awarded to Peebles, which resulted in a drive over try by Adam Clark.
The number 15 missed his first kick off the match as the ball curved to the left of the posts.
Shortly after this Craig Borthwick was yellow carded leaving Peebles a man down for almost the rest of the half.
In the last five minutes of regular time Adam Moffat was forced off with a dislocated shoulder to a great round of sympathetic applause by the Peebles' fans for an excellent game.
In injury time, Kelso finally got their first try when after an original break was tackled by Fraser Strachan but the ball was offloaded to Andy Tait who scored an inevitable score.
