Playing into the wind in the first half the visitors managed to bag three goals, effectively killing the game off before the interval.

David Meldrum got the ball rolling, striking high into net from the right. Defensively the Ams were solid and Nathan McDonald reacted well to clear an effort off the line.

Back at the other end of the pitch Meldrum was again in the thick of it, winning his side a penalty after being taken out in the box. Stuart Mullins obliged with the spot kick. Another goal soon followed. Mullins’ shot rebounded to Craig Entwistle and the midfielder blasted the ball past the helpless Kelso keeper. The Ams wrapped things up in the second half.

Top-scorer Scott Inglis lashed a stunning shot in off the woodwork from 20 yards. Kelso claimed a late consolation goal but it was the away team who picked up the three points.

A tough test awaits Peebles tomorrow. They travel to Berwick-upon-Tweed to take on table toppers Tweedmouth. The match kicks off at 2pm.
