A FORMER Peebles High School pupil has enhanced his chance of a trip to the Paralympics in Rio next year by securing a silver medal in the Boccia World Championships in Beijing.
Patrick Wilson is representing Team GB and taking part in both the pairs and the singles event of the target ball paralympic sport.
Competing in the BC3 category (players using an assistive device), he and his partner were beaten by South Korea in the final of the pairs.
Patrick’s proud mum Sarah, from Cardrona, said: “While they were disappointed to miss out on gold, silver medal is a tremendous achievement and a really positive step towards their mission to qualify for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.”
