THE team responsible for some of Scotland’s best biking events are looking for volunteers to help out with their 2015 events. TweedLove volunteers have a big reputation for their friendliness, which has become part of mountain bike folklore – riders and the media are always amazed by the huge Tweed Valley welcome they are given.

Whether you can spare a few hours or a few days, it’s the help of the volunteers which transforms events to make them super special and so memorable for visitors. Organisers are looking for volunteers at the Vallelujah enduro race based in Selkirk, on March 28 and 29, and then throughout TweedLove festival from May 16 to 31, with events around Peebles and Innerleithen.

TweedLove spokesperson Fiona Dalgleish said: “We need people to fill every kind of role you can imagine - and then some! These events have become a huge good news story for the area, and without volunteers they simply couldn’t happen - so if you’ve any time to spare, we’d love to have you!

“We are looking for volunteers who are 16 and over, able to volunteer for at least half a day and have kit and clothing to keep you warm and dry outside. In return, as well as the chance to get trackside for the best racing in the valley you’ll get our never ending gratitude, lunch and a t-shirt. “If you volunteer during TweedLove you’ll also be entered into a prize draw to win some great prizes, free entry to Love Club and the chance to rub shoulders with the best riders in the world - plus we hope you’ll have a pretty great time on the job!” For more information and to volunteer, email: volunteers@tweedlove.com
