THE Tweed Valley Petanque Club held their annual Bastille Day Open Competition on Sunday, July 12 at Kailzie Gardens, Peebles.

Twenty six people came along to play and as there were more teams than pistes the games were played on a rotation system which meant players were able to sit and relax while watching the other games until they were able to play. There was time for a picnic and a raffle before the final games were played and the scores were in.

The winners were: 1st, Frances Donald and Enid Underwood; 2nd, John and Chris Steele: 3rd, Michel Lhombreaud and Elizabeth Beatson.
