John Smith, Match Secretary, welcomed everybody taking part in the tournament and asked for a minute’s silence in remembrance of John Stein, the previous Secretary who passed away last year.
Play then carried on in the usual round robin format.
In a well contested final the Thankerton triple of Paul Nicolson (skip), Jim Simpson and Willie Common won the tournament by beating Lawrence Lavin (skip), Derek Gilland and Dot Lavin. At the presentation John Smith thanked everybody for taking part, those who helped to set up the green, suppliers of raffle prizes, purchasers of raffle tickets and offered a big thank you to the ladies of the kitchen who had a busy time.
The next event will be a Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 31. at 1pm.
Everyone is welcome to come and take part in Bowling, Fun games, BBQ, Plant Stall, Cake and Candy stall and Raffle. Any donations of plants etc. from members and non members welcome.
