The Lowland League club have ben battling against debts for most of the season.

And they face an uncertain future unless they can bring their ground into line with the Scottish Football Association’s Entry Level requirements.

Last week the Victoria Park club launched its own version of the national lottery.

And bosses are calling for all supporters, former players and committee members to get behind the venture.

Vale chairman Jack Diamond said: “The lotto will allow everyone to help the club and give it a secure future.

“Everyone’s little contribution will go a long way to making sure we still have a Vale of Leithen for years to come.” The Vale of Leithen Club Lotto costs £10 per month.

Membership qualifies each player to 12 draws each month with a guaranteed minimum jackpot of £500 up for grabs by matching three of a selected four balls.

As an added incentive the first 100 players to register through direct debit will also be entered into a free 100 Club draw each month for £100.

And anyone signing up before Christmas will receive a free half-season ticket to allow free entry into Victoria Park for the remaining Lowland League campaign.

Vale manager Mark Lamb said: “We need to generate regular income for the club in order to achieve the SFA Club Licence.

“The Lotto is a fun way of raising funds while at the same time giving our supporters a chance of winning a big cash jackpot.

“Clubs like Vale of Leithen can’t survive without regular fundraising.” Entry forms to the Club Lotto are available from all committee members and are also available to download from the club website www.valeofleithen.co.uk/pages/clublotto.htm and from the Facebook page.

All entrants will be asked to select four numbers between 1 and 32.

A total of 12 draws will take place over each month on Sundays at the Union Club in Innerleithen.

And the 100 Club will also be drawn each month.
