LAST Friday evening's Peebles Rugby Club dinner was one of reflection, laughs and looking to the future.

Following a season which saw Drew Moore's team agonizingly just miss out on promotion there were plenty of 'what ifs'.

But there was also plenty of enthusiasm and optimism for what lies ahead at the Gytes and Haylodge.

Club chairman Graham Bell and captain Donald Anderson were joined at the top table by life member Donald Swanson BEM and the evening's guests - Jimmy Glasgow from Dolphinton RFC and former Newcastle Falcon and star of Britain's Got Talent, Cal Halbert.

Both guests had the packed clubrooms in stitches with their wise cracks, observations and impressions.

Director of Rugby Adam Moffat announced the winners of last season's awards.

Calum Anderson was the popular choice for First Team Player of the Year.

Seconds Player of the Year went to James King with the trophy for Sevens Player of the Year was collected by Ruairidh Britton.

The Felicity Barker Quaich, for Young Player of the year, was won by Roddy Guiney.

It was left to club captain Donald Anderson to reflect on the the promising season that's been as well look ahead to an exciting season ahead.
