THE future of rugby in Peebles looks pretty safe.

A new venture, called Rugbytots, kicked off recently.

The initiative offers an excellent starting block for the progressive opportunities in Peebles and the surrounding area for children to develop and grow in rugby.

Rugbytots is a structured, rugby specific, play programme for pre-school children aged from two to five.

It focuses on the key development stages including balance, coordination and agility whilst building on core motor skills such as jumping, throwing and catching.

Kymm Anderson from Rugbytots told us: “The classes are based around fun which is the best way for your child to learn.

“It also teaches vital social skills. There is absolutely no contact at this stage of learning so gives no negative impact on the important stages of development.” Classes run at the Gytes Leisure centre on Saturday mornings from 9.15am to 9.45am (age 2 - 3.5) and 9.55am to 10.40am (age 3.5 - 5)
