EVER imagined designing your very own ice cream? Well now you can. To celebrate this October’s Imaginarium Festival, Peebles’ Eastgate Theatre and Caldwells Homemade Ice Cream have joined forces to offer one young person the chance to create their own brand new ‘Imaginarium Dream’ ice cream that will be on sale for the week of the young people’s festival from Monday to Saturday, October 15 to 19.

Peebles Creative Place Co-ordinator Alex Emerson said “The Imaginarium is all about stretching imaginations and trying out new things and Caldwell’s Ice Cream seemed a natural partner for us – the company is renowned for its innovation in flavours such as Delfino Blue (marshmallow) and Sea Buckthorn (from the East Coast berry). We really want children to stretch their imaginations and create an exciting new ice cream!” The competition is open to all school aged children within the Scottish Borders who can create a new flavour, list the ingredients for their recipe & toppings, and draw a picture of how their ice cream will look.

Drew Caldwell of Caldwell’s Homemade Ice Cream wants to see imaginations running wild and said: “We like a splash of colour and eye catching displays but most of all the taste has to be scrumptious!” The winner of the most imaginative and tasty idea will be invited to take their family on a trip to Caldwell’s to unveil the ‘Imaginarium Dream’. They will also win tickets to see one of the Imaginarium theatre, music or comedy performances. The two runners up will win a sundae of their choice & family tickets to another of the fantastic Imaginarium shows. The competition will be judged by the Caldwells team.

Competition forms can be picked up at Caldwell’s Homemade Ice Cream, 38 High Street, Peebles EH45, at A & A Caldwells at 88 High Street, Innerleithen, EH44 6HF or from the Eastgate Theatre Box Office. Closing date is Wednesday, October 1, at 5pm. The winner’s Imaginarium Dream Ice Cream will be on sale from Wednesday 15 October.
