THE Easter Egg Extravaganza at Traquair on Sunday, April 5 is the biggest event of its kind in the Borders. With over 5,500 mini eggs hidden in the maze and some larger eggs to be won as well we guarantee that no child shall leave empty handed.

This year there is also a gigantic Easter egg which all are invited to decorate during the day and will be exhibited after the event.

There are lot of other activities children to enjoy from scavenger and treasure hunts in the grounds and woodlands, musical instrument making, drumming and singing, egg decorating, storytelling, Easter bonnet making as well as face painting in the walled garden.

Michael Angelo, the extraordinary stilt man will be entertaining the crowds and leading the Easter procession at 3pm for everyone to show off their bonnets!

This year there are three egg hunts planned for the under 10s. At 1.30pm the first hunt will be for five-six year olds in the Maze. Then at 3.30pm there will be an under 5s egg scramble in the old walled garden and at 4pm a hunt for seven-nine year olds will be held in the maze.
