ALL the fun of the Fair returns to Traquair this summer.

The country’s oldest continually habited house, near Innerleithen, will host its annual Fair on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2.

It is a welcome return following a decision in 2011 to stage it on a biennial basis.

This year Traquair Fair will boast a spectacular Americana theme.

Following on from a 1960s theme in 2013 this year will highlight all things American. With a great line up of music including country, bluegrass, folk and roots as well as workshops in jive dance and line dancing the fair will be jumpin’ and jivin’ throughout the day.

Wild West entertainments, high quality street theatre and shows will take place in front of the house while by the maze the children’s area promises to be a mix of theatre, workshops and activities with an American theme.

A grand display of classic American cars and bikes will be on show and enthusiasts invited to bring their vehicles along.

In the house, there will be live showings of classic American movies throughout the weekend from James Dean to classic westerns.

On the avenue and in the garden there will be teepees and therapies, food, crafts, vintage clothing and accessories.

Entertainment runs from 11am to 6pm each day, with music continuing until 8pm.

Those interested in performing or wishing to apply for a stand should contact Traquair Fair by emailing: enquiries@traquair.co.uk or call 01896 830323.
