THE year is shaping up to be another hugely successful one for award-winning singer Robyn Stapleton as she tours the country, fronting a four piece band and performing songs from her debut album Fickle Fortune.

The album, launched this month, features some of Scotland and Ireland’s most beautiful folk songs, from lively and spirited arrangements to sensitively accompanied ballads and unaccompanied laments, each telling a story of changing fortune or twist of fate.

Robyn, who last year won the title of BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year, is playing the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles.

Her live performances have also included BBC’s Proms in the Park with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra where she shared the stage with Katherine Jenkins, The Commonwealth Festival on Glasgow Green, and the Commonwealth Concert series BBC at the Quay.

On this tour the four piece line up also features Kristan Harvey on fiddles, pianist Alistair Iain Paterson and guitarist Hajime Takahashi.

They will perform at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles on Friday, July 3, at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £12, £10 or £5 for schoolchildren, are available now from Box Office on 01721 725777 or online at www.eastgatearts.com
