SHOPPERS in Biggar have been encouraged to be more creative with their cooking.

The Sainsbury's Try Team, which sponsored this year's Biggar Day Out, are pictured serving up a treat in the local store.

It was part of the town's Biggar Little Festival celebrations.

Other attractions included a Festival of Fudge involving related music, dance, literature and art.

Cathy Burns, from Sainsburys Try Team, said: "This is the first year that Sainsburys has been in Biggar and we are delighted to have sponsored Biggar Day Out.

"I was asked to come to Biggar and cook recipes for the public to taste and enjoy, highlighting our local produce using quick easy recipes to encourage people to Live Well for Less."

And she added: "The response was great and everyone seemed to enjoy tasting Sticky Sausages through to Lemon Posset and taking the recipes home to cook for themselves."
