THE Scottish Borders Wind Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Guitar Ensemble have recently returned from a highly successful concert tour of Germany.
Eighty young musicians from all nine of the region’s high schools - including Peebles - took part in the excursion.
The orchestras, directed by Rob Hume (Wind and Chamber Orchestra) and Ross Milligan (Guitars), performed three concerts to enthusiastic German audiences - at the All Saints Church Cologne on Saturday, June 14, Bernkatel-Kues, on Sunday, June 15, and at the Musikpavillon Boppard on Monday, June 16.
They also spent a day out at Phantasialand theme park, enjoyed a cruise on the Moselle and the whole group are pictured sightseeing at the German Corner monument at Koblenz.
School pupils who would like to play in one of the region’s music ensembles next session should contact the instrumental music service on 01835 825097 or e-mail music@scotborders.gov.uk
