A GROUP of disabled musicians have released their first CD last week week - an audio story featuring their music.

'Giants in the Forest' by Peebles Players is the result of five months of work inspired by sculputres built by Vision Mechanics in Glentress Forest.

The Players developed a story about three giants coming to the forest and scaring the local bird life.

The music was created by the group using songs, percussion and instrumental solos.

They've used percussive techniques to mirror the footsteps of the giants and their enormous snores and to capture beautiful sounds of the forest.

Leader Claire Garnett said: "The Players are indeed serious about their music.

"In spite of their disabilities, they do get results which they look forward the sharing it with members of the community."

The story, which is narrated by local thespian Jenny Chapman should appeal to children as well as adults as those giants are exciting but in the end rather friendly. The CD 'Giants in the Forest' is sale for only 5 at the Eastgate.
