The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 The Scottish Borders Council (Various Streets, Peebles) (Regulation Of Traffic) Order 2000 (Amendment No. 5) Order 2018
The Scottish Borders Council, on 24 July 2018, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Sections 1 and 2 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and by Section 19 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to said Act and having complied with The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999, made the above Order. The Order will come into operation on 1 August 2018. The effect of the Order is as described in the Notice previously published in the Peeblesshire News on 11 May 2018.
A copy of the Order as made, with relevant maps, may be inspected at Road Safety and Traffic Management, Assets and Infrastructure, Scottish Borders Council, Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells from Mon to Thurs between 8.45 am and 5.00 pm and on Fri between 8.45 am and 3.45 pm and also at Peebles Contact Centre, High Street, Peebles, EH45 8AF during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 27 July 2018, make application for the purpose to the Court of Session.
