IT was a great day for St Ronan's Silver Band at the Borders Slow Melody Competition in Selkirk at the weekend.
Organised by Selkirk Silver Band, the Slow Melody Contest to allow Borders musicians the opportunity to compete in a solo and small ensemble sections.
Thirteen year old Callum Anderson became possibly the youngest winner of the entire contest.
Meanwhile, the St Ronan's quartets were placed first and second in the intermediate quartets section.
The quartet players were: Callum Anderson, Lizzie Bell, Thomas Brydon, Ally Norman, Alex Paterson, Callum Robb and Anya Wilson.
Solo results:
Under 12 Soloists - Anya Wilson silver award, Callum Anderson gold award and second place.
Under 14 Soloists - Lizzie Bell gold and third place, Callum Robb gold award and first prize.
Open quartet section - Flaming Flugels first prize (including St. Ronan's own Jill Keddie).
Open Soloist - Callum Robb 1st (Borders Slow Melody Champion 2015).
