THE Principals for the 2017 St Ronan's Games have been unveiled.

Liam Card has been announced as this year's Standard Bearer-Elect.

The 26-year-old will join Sally Brown as the Standard Bearer-Elect Lass.

Norman Scott takes on the role as Principal Guest and Bryony Patterson has been announced as the Lady Busser.

The new Standard Bearer-Elect told the Peeblesshire News: "It's an enormous privilege to take on the role, and I'm looking forward to the main event in the Summer. 

"I've been keeping this a secret for weeks from lots of friends and family, and I'm glad that the news is finally out, and that the folk of Innerleithen know I am the 2017 Standard Bearer."

Liam and Sally replace the 2016 Standard Bearer Ross Brown and Lass Faye Nicholson.
