A PEEBLES marketing guru has added another notch to her belt by being short-listed for a top tech award later this month.

Jacqueline MacDougall, who is marketing manager for the Business Gateway National Unit, has secured a finalist place in the Digital Professional of the Year category for the Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards 2017.

The nomination comes as a result of her work on both Business Gateway and its DigitalBoost programme.

The DigitalBoost support programme has helped thousands of small businesses in Scotland enhance and improve their digital skills.

In the Borders, the programme has seen over 420 attendees at DigitalBoost workshops with many more planned for the coming months.

On top of that 51 Scottish Borders business owners have received advice from the company.

Sally Loudon Chief Executive of COSLA, who is heavily involved with the scheme, said: “This is a Digital programme which is delivered by Local Government, and it is fantastic that Local Government is leading the way with innovative services for businesses throughout Scotland.

“It gives me great pleasure and immense pride to see DigitalBoost recognised in this way.

“I would also like to say very well done to Jacqueline MacDougall who finds herself up for an individual award, well deserved recognition for her work with the DigitalBoost programme and Business Gateway.

Ms MacDougall, meanwhile, has spoken of her pride at the nomination.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted with the nomination.

"Constantly evolving digital technology has shaped the way we all do business.

"And this nomination is a reflection of the work being carried out at Business Gateway, through DigitalBoost and other programmes, to ensure small businesses across Scotland are equipped with the digital skills and knowledge they need to make a success of their enterprises.

“It has been a privilege to be involved in this work and I look forward to continuing to lead on this important area in the future.”
