A BORDERS man’s body has been found in Northumberland.

Damion Willcock, who was 49-years-old and had lived in the Broughton area, was reported missing earlier this month amid fears for his safety.

He was last seen in the Northumbrian village of Whittingham area, before his body was found by the Northumberland Mountain Rescue team in woods nearby last week.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Willcock, who was originally from Alnwick, was an active member of the Broughton community and was heavily involved in the Upper Tweed Railway Paths project as well as being a panel member of the Infinis Glenkerie Community Fund.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Emergency services attended but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The body has since been identified as that of missing man Damion Willcock, who was 49.

“Specialist officers are supporting his family at this difficult time.”
