STAFF from a Peebles pub are preparing for a 12-hour static cycle this weekend.

To mark World Cancer Day this Sunday, staff from the Cross Keys Pub in the Northgate, will take part in the charity challenge.

Alan Wilder, shift manager told the Peeblesshire News: “All 12 of us from the pub will be taking part, cycling for an hour each, which starts at 8am and finishes at 8pm.

“We decided to do it to mark World Cancer Day, and help raise money for the CLIC Sargent cancer charity for children, young people and their families.

“I’d urge everyone in Peebles to please support us on the day, and to pop into the pub to leave some money in our donation box.”
