A SHOPPER who drove home from a local supermarket while almost four times the legal limit has received a 16-month driving ban at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Fifty three year old Willow Syme had initially denied driving in various streets in Peebles with a breath/alcohol reading of 87 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22 - on the evening of Friday, March 23.
But at her intermediate diet she changed her plea to guilty.
The court was told she was spotted leaving the Sainsbury's store under the influence of alcohol and police were called.
Her lawyer said the support worker was having relationship difficulties at the time.
Syme of Kitttlegairy View in Peebles, was also fined £300 in addition to the 16 month ban.
