A PEEBLES man who denies assaulting his partner by throwing her to the floor whereby she struck her head, standing on her neck and striking her repeatedly with an IPad or similar device all to her injury, will stand trial on August 30.

Twenty-seven-year-old Craig Robertson of Provost Melrose Place, pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence on June 12.

He also denies breaching a bail condition not to contact a witness on July 7, via social media.

Robertson also denies driving a car at Glenfield road east and Currie Road in Galashiels on January 14 with a breath/alcohol reading of 66 mcgs – exceeding the legal limit of 22mcgs - failing to report an accident; alleging the car had been stolen; and failing to identify the driver.
