A TOTAL of 116 young bookworms completed the Summer Reading Challenge at Peebles Library.
The annual initiative sees children read six books of their choice during the school holidays.
And despite initial concerns that the good weather would keep the kids outdoors, this is the highest number of completed challenges the library has had.
One youngster told us: "I really enjoyed the reading challenge. It encouraged me to read new books."
A parent added: "This has been most enjoyable for the children and the scheme has kept them reading all summer."
