SCOTTISH Borders Council is hitting the road later this month to display a series of flood studies.

Exhibitions will be held in Broughton, Innerleithen and Peebles to allow residents to find out more about the flood study process, the flood risk posed to the communities and potential measures that can be taken to reduce risks.

Although some preventative measures have been made across Tweeddale, many areas are still at risk of flooding from the Tweed and its tributaries.

A Scottish Borders Council spokesperson said: “Your opinion is essential to capture the desire of the community for future flood measures.

“Members of the project team will be in attendance to guide you through the exhibition and answer any questions you may have.”

The Broughton event takes place in the Village Hall on Thursday, September 27 from 2pm to 8pm, while the Innerleithen event will be held in the Memorial Hall on Thursday, October 4 from 2pm to 8pm.

The details of the Peebles event are still being finalised, and will be confirmed on the council’s own social media pages.
