A 36-year-old man from Peeblesshire who punched a female police constable in the face has been hit with a £1200 bill at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Neil Cruikshank of Horsbrugh Castle Farm Cottages, pleaded guilty to struggling violently with two police constables in High Street, Innerleithen, on July 22.
Cruikshank also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
He was fined £900 and ordered to pay £300 compensation to the police officer.
