PHARMACY workers from Peebles have walked their way through Tweeddale to raise cash for charity.

Staff from Lloyds Pharmacy on Peebles High Street put their best foot forward and completed a 13.8 mile walk, raising over £1,800 for Alzheimer’s Scotland and Dementia Friends, the designated charities of the pharmacy.

Helen Kinstrey, Katherine Rattray, Hannah Moss, Julie Cutter and Marianne Currie set off at 9.30am on Sunday, September 30, and completed the route from Broughton to Peebles in just under seven hours.

Speaking of the achievement, walker Marianne Currie said: “The weather was ok apart from one small period of rain. And we just avoided been chased by a field of cows.

“Everyone completed the walk. Most of us were quite sore for the next couple of days but it was completely worth it, we have so far raised £1,800 and counting.

“We are blown away by the generosity of the people of Peebles and cannot thank them enough for all the donations and support for Alzheimer’s and Dementia friends.”
