Folk fans are invited to Kelso’s Tait Hall as singer and activist Peggy Seeger takes to the stage for what promises to be a memorable performance.
The show on November 9 at 7.30pm is billed as 'An Evening of Song and Conversation' and will feature performances from Peggy, now in her 80s, along with her two sons Calum and Neil.
Peggy’s new show will welcome and encourage audience participation as she performs some of the songs that have meant the most to her over the years.
Following the paperback publication of her award-winning memoir 'The First Time Ever' last month, Peggy will also be reading from the book as well as performing renditions of her husband Ewan MacColl’s most treasured songs.
Becki Hodgson, Live Borders rural touring development officer, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to catch this inspirational and iconic folk musician as she visits the Scottish Borders.”
Expect anecdotes, delivered with wry humour and an entertaining insight into the remarkable life of one of the best loved ‘queens of folk’.
Tickets cost £15-£20. Visit www.liveborders.org.uk
