A CAR fire and another accident are causing traffic chaos for morning rush-hour commuters.
Traffic Scotland raised the alarm about the fire at around 7am.
The team said on Twitter: “Reports of a car fire on the #M8 W/B J17 Great Western Road off-slip. Traffic stationary at the moment, police are en-route.”

Traffic Scotland later said the off-slip was closed but was open by around 7.10am.

Traffic is also reportedly extremely slow on the M8 Glasgow westbound.

BBC Travel Scotland said: “One lane is closed and traffic is slow due to an accident on the M8 westbound from junction 16 Craighall Charing Cross. Things are starting to really slow up around there just now.”
