FAIRYWAY-hitting golfers are helping to bring some light relief to Borders General Hospital.
Dozens of big-hitters teed up at the Roxburghe Golf Course for the inaugural Friends of the BGH tournament, organised by Nigel Brown.
Coming out on top of the leaderboard was the Middlemiss Embroidery Ltd team.
But, undoubtedly, the overall winner is the hospital's dermatology department which will benefit from a new £26,000 PUVA light therapy machine - after more than £2,500 was raised for the pot during the tournament.
James Marjoribanks from Friends of the BGH told us: "The PUVA Light Therapy machine, among other uses, can be used to treat skin cancer.
"We are the only health board in Scotland not to have one and Border patients who require this treatment have to travel up to Edinburgh at the moment, so we are really grateful to all the teams that took part, the sponsors, Roxburghe Golf Club and, especially Nigel Brown for organising this event.”
