ALLAN MCGREGOR Keeper didn’t have a lot to do in the first half as Hamilton rarely threatened and became frustrated as those in front of him failed to get going. Made a couple of saves after the break but was denied a clean sheet by a superb Boyd strike. 7

JAMES TAVERNIER Was kept alert defensively and tried to make his presence felt in Accies’ half but a couple of crosses came to nothing in the first half. Better after the break and kept his cool to clinch the win with two clinical penalties in the closing stages. 8

CONNOR GOLDSON Struggled on the plastic pitch at Livingston a couple of weeks ago but was a bit better here. Could have kept it simpler at times as he stepped out from the back and too many passes went astray. 6

NIKOLA KATIC Croatian stopper has been in and out of the side in recent weeks and was handed a recall here. Didn’t settle and looked shaky as he made a couple of errors. Replaced by Worrall for the final minutes. 5

ANDY HALLIDAY Has been praised by Gerrard for his versatility this term and was utilised at left-back against Accies. Fulfilled the role well and shrugged off a muscle issue to help Rangers see it out in the end. 6

JORDAN ROSSITER Midfielder has endured another difficult campaign with injury and made his first start since the final day of last season. Understandably rusty at times but impressive overall as he started his latest comeback for the Gers. 7

LASSANA COULIBALY Given more of a licence to get forward with Rossiter in the side. Saw enough of the ball but didn’t always use it well enough. Played his part but not at his best. 6

OVIE EJARIA Much of the creative responsibility fell on his shoulders in the middle of the park but didn’t get a lot of time on the ball and couldn’t cut open a dogged Accies defence. Decent performance, though. 6

DANIEL CANDEIAS Not as effective as he could or should have been as Rangers struggled assert themselves as an attacking force. Better in the second half and should have scored late on. 6

RYAN KENT Didn’t see enough of the ball early on as Rangers struggled as a creative force but he made an impact when it mattered as he collected Morelos’ pass and finished well to net his third Rangers goal. Another solid showing from the winger. 7

ALFREDO MORELOS Striker was denied meaningful service in the first half but he had a hand in the opening goal with a pass to send Kent free. A frustrating afternoon but took his goal well late on. 7

Substitutes:

JOE WORRALL (for Katic) On as Gerrard looked to shore things up at the back. Played his part in the final minutes. 3

EROS GREZDA (for Rossiter) An attacking throw of the dice for Rangers but he wasn’t required as the match winner. 2

ROSS MCCRORIE (for Kent) Given a run-out for the closing seconds to waste time. 1
